Vastu Pooja (वास्तु पूजा)

VASTU FOR PLOT ACTIVATION

Vastu Shastra is an ancient Indian science based on five fundamental energy which are responsible for life on earth and affect everything to varying degree that happens. Understanding & utilizing their knowledge can help move from negative energy towards a life full of positivity. Vastu principles not only limited themselves to the design of the house but also consider other factors as surroundings, plot direction.

At times It’s difficult to implement Vastu principles and rules in already constructed house / building, still altering usage / modifications can bring lot of improvements. However, in case of a new construction, it is far easier and more beneficial to adopt to Vaastu rules or plot activation or land/ building activation.

Some Basic Points You Must Check When Buying a Plot as per Vastu

Plot Surrounding: One should take care of plot’s surroundings as it could be one of the many factors that can bring happiness or sorrow. For example plots surrounded by plants, trees and greeneries are considered auspicious.

Roads near plot: Plot facing the road in north or east is considered auspicious as this results in more space in Northeast which provides positive energy of sunlight.

Plot near Public Place: Residential plot near any public place like- school, hospital, temple or college etc. according to Vaastu as one can face issues as lack of peace, concentration etc. However, if public place is located over 100 meters away from the plot, is acceptable.

North and East of the plot: North and East, esp. northeast  provides positive energy via sunlight and there should not be obstacles as big buildings, bridge, heavy structure, etc.  in the northeast of plot.

South of the plot: Unlike Northeast, If the south of your plot is heavy and has hillocks, mounds of earth, big buildings, heavy structure, etc. it is considered beneficial.

Bhoomi Puja

BHOOMI PUJAN (भूमि पूजन)

It is a must to worship the plot (land) before starting any construction activity. The worship (puja, prayer) should be done in northeast of the plot on any auspicious Vastu Mahurat (day & time) for house by a learned Pandit. The owner must make the first digging on the auspicious day & time as determined by a learned astrologer. An auspicious day & time is based on the panchāngam or the five components (Thithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, Var) of that particular date or day & time. Muhurat is dependent on the position of the moon, sun, planets w.r.t. earth. Good panchanga does not means that particular day & time is good for every person.

भूमि पूजन मुहूर्त

Good or bad day & time for a given person is decided on the Janma Nakshtra (planetary situation during birth) of that person. If the person’s Janma Nakshtra is compatible with the Nakshtra of that particular day & time, then that day is considered good date for him. Further auspicious time or Subh muhurtha is calculated based on a particular geographic location, its sunrise time as the starting point. Duration of an auspicious moment is usually 80 to 90 minutes. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are considered good while Sunday or Tuesday are not considered good to start construction of house and should be avoided.

Starting day of house construction if in Shukla Paksha (growing / waxing phase of moon) brings happiness, while in Krishna Paksha (Waning phase of moon) brings loss. Starting of any work on Bhumi (Land) as laying of foundation stone, starting excavation and construction, putting the main door are best done on particular dates of specific months, to make full use of the cosmic energy for the betterment of residents with comforts, health and longevity, peace and prosperity. Vaastu Purush must be worshipped before start of any new Construction or Renovation.

Generally, there will no new work as new construction of house, temple, palaces, house warming (griha-pravesh) etc. is done during the period of Ashadh Shukla to Kartik Shukla, when it is believed that gods are in sleep (Dev Shayan). Dakshinayan (winter solstice) that is the night of Deities begins lasting four months till Bodhini Ekadashi.
