BEST VASTU FOR OVERHEAD TANK

Locating overhead tanks as per Vastu is important and should follow the set steps as it is considered as extension of architecture. Now a days, water is pumped into the overhead tank to be able to flow down via pipes into the taps. Correctly placed water tank can lead to increase in wealth, prosperity and knowledge. Tips and guidelines for overhead tank are provided below.

Vastu Tips for Overhead Tank

Location or placement: Ideally the overhead tank should be in the west or south west. Due to water, this portion of house becomes heavy which is preferred.

If placed in the southwest, tank should be at least two feet over the uppermost slab. Best way is to place the tank on a slab that is higher than the slab of the building. However, make sure that there is no dampness.

Even though northeast represents the element of water, big overhead tank is avoided as this side should be lightly loaded. However, one may place a small tank in this area.

Overhead tank in the south-east is bad omen and may result in loss of wealth and accidents. South direction is of medium effect but tank should be at least two feet above the slab of the roof and not leak.

West (not southwest corner) is preferred for water tank as this direction belongs to Lord Varuna, lord of rains, fame & fate. In such a case, tank can be built over the building slab.

North-west should be avoided. However, if the tank is of a small size, less height and situated at a distance of at least two feet from the north-west corner,

Centre of house: Avoid overhead tank in the middle / centre of house as this place belongs to Brahma, creator of life. One would also not like staying in the house for a long time.

Avoid plastic overhead tanks. If there is no other alternative, then use blue or black colored plastic tanks, as darker shades absorb sunrays.

Have different tanks for different purpose.  For example, drinking and cooking water can be from one tank, water for toilets and bathrooms from another one.
